She passed away

She passed away with no illness but was burned in less than a week . She was as if saying farewell to all visitors with gestures. The fire stole her skin leaving wounds ,pain and unrevealed illness. No one knows why she died , why she left early with no reason to justify.

Everyone wonders and foretells : may be the early morning tea on the new year morning was meant not to be drunk . Or may be she misses her daughter that passed away less than a year ago . Or may be fate was meant to be her last thing to do.

She left in peace . everything was set for funeral and mourning as if she was ready to leave. They carried her as a royal person on shoulders. They took her to her eternal palace.

She went away, as she wanted to be away of all wire and drops and medicines and the so called ghosts with white coats stealing souls. She had enough with doctors check ups and phony diagnosis. She was fed up of hospital bills that were burdens on her kids. As her wounds have never been healed , she left to a better place under dust , under the sky.

Like a mother, like a daughter

We look like our grandparents. A friend of mine just told me today that the genes that does not appear on the first generation, they appear on the second one. More precisely is like if my mother has green eyes and I did not get that from her, my kids have great chances to own them. I can see GOD's wisdom in this as generations will be connected to their origins and never drift apart.

And sometimes , we feel the connection between us and them. When we act , behave or practice some kind of rituals or love the same thing or even when we stick to the same principles. And in another form , as other people portray us as them and their names and images and inspiration glow even if they are dead, but they are immortal as part of them lives within us. Life cycle makes us eternal somehow , by body, existence and tales.

House of Light Foundation released booklet “Survival Glossary”

Aden - in particular:

House of Light Foundation released, in partnership with Hack/Hackers, the “the Survival Glossary” that includes a number of the most essential words that are commonly used in the fields of journalism and internet which is classified as Road Map for both.

The booklet comes after an initiative achieved by Hack/Hackers to gather all terms and common words used in both journalism and internet. Then House of Light Foundation translated it into Arabic as it is vitally important to enrich the Arabic content and reinforce Arab journalism.

It is important to mention that Hack/Hackers is a group of people in the US, working to help others make a difference in their world. They do their best to bridge the gap between the two fields (journalism and internet) through illustrating and distributing information and obtaining stories to publish them, while House of Light Foundation is an independent non-governmental organization, that is launched from Aden city and aims to inspire and place a positive social change in the community through finding effective leaderships and build capacities along with development and its demands.

Dear Grandpa

Fearing for me to get hurt , he holds my wrest tightly , when we cross the street. He taps on my head when I act politely and feeds me by his hand till I bite his fingers. He never smiles at me neither he cries. And when we drifted apart he embraced me as if he wanted to let me go, so that I do not see him weak, as if tears will make him less humane. Always his words are encouraging me to take care of myself and others as a soldier protecting his land. And when I was just younger , he promised to bring me everything I dreamed of. His serious facial expressions and attitude never made me fear him, but love him more. And the more he is away , the more I remember being with him as a piece of feather , fragile , flying, free and always fine.

facts on women

Women in cultures have been very abused and stigmatized with bad luck and superstitions. In every culture we see women humiliated and taken by granted that fate made them just as they are : witches , bad luck dispensers and waste humans.

Before Islam, Arabs used to burry their daughters alive as they were frightened of being ashamed of having a girl not a boy. There were many stories of fathers burying their daughters alive so that they live with honor. It was a type of honor killing to preserve dignity of the tribe man at that era.

There are other practices to preserve the so called honor. In some African traditions, girls are tortured and may be led to death by circumcision. The reason is because families want to preserve honor and in this way , they think, that they protect their honor. The girls are placed, or rather buried in a hole in a dusty land. This hole will be linked to another hole by a channel to stream camel dung and sawdust into the girl's hole, as the myth says it relieves the pain caused by circumcision wounds. After that, they tie the girl's legs so that she can not move and can not itch on the place of pain in her body. So another practice that humiliate females as it is believed that they are source of dishonor.

We claim to be more tolerant with women and precisely more accepting to the fact that they can be great partners, but I guess a lot of " the advocates " for this idea from the other gender still need to comprehend a very important issue about women. Women are not tools , puppet dolls nor entertainers. Women are not shadow creatures nor passive persons. Women are not appetizers nor food . They are not bad luck , nor they are charmed . They are only meant to be beside males to fight together , build this life and be successors on earth .
